It is seeming more and more that government is affecting our everyday life. Whether these elections at the municipal, county, state and Federal level, we are not only affected by those who are elected but also by how they carry out their elected duties.

At the County level we elect the Council members and the County Executive. The ulitmately set our taxes, oversee the Board of Education, Zoning, Police, and Fire. We also vote for our Judges that, along with juries rule on the acceptableness of our behavior.

Our County Council also nominates oversees those that provide us water, sewer, and all our parks. Are we happy with their decisions are and what they do?

At the State level we elect our Delegates and State Senators. Do we like the Gas Tax? The cost of our License Plates? Our state income taxes? The cost of our toll roads?

Finally, at the Federal Level we elect our Representatives, Senators, and our President. Are we happy with what they do? Do they serve our needs? Do they protect our nation?

Simply put, we often interact with the our elected officials that define, control, and govern activities that touch us almost every day. If we Get Involved, Take Action, Attend Events, and Vote then we can directly affect the elected officials that touch our lives.
